Shimano Stradic FM C5000 XG

The Shimano Stradic FM is the versatile workhorse of the Shimano Coresolid range, carrying a faultless reputation for strength and refinement. The C5000 XG model is the powerhouse of the lineup, offering a compact body with a large-capacity spool and a high-speed gear ratio. Whether you are battling hard-fighting predators in freshwater or tackling the salt spray of the coast, the Stradic FM delivers class-leading performance.

For this latest generation, Shimano has integrated InfinityXross and InfinityDrivetechnologies previously reserved for flagship modelsto ensure that the reel remains smooth and powerful even when winding under extreme pressure. Housed in a lightweight but rigid HAGANE Aluminum body, this reel is built to endure years of heavy use in the harshest environments.

Where to Use: Ideal Scenarios

The C5000 XG (Compact 5000 Extra-High Gear) is designed for high-performance applications where speed and strength are required:

• Inshore Saltwater & Bass Fishing: The perfect partner for long-casting lures for Sea Bass. The X-Protect water resistance and DuraCross Drag ensure it survives the salt and handles powerful runs with ease.

• Heavy Freshwater Predators: Ideal for Pike and large Zander, especially when using high-resistance lures like deep-diving crankbaits or heavy swimbaits.

• Salmon & Seatrout: Its high-speed retrieve ($6.2:1$) is excellent for maintaining line tension in fast-flowing rivers.

• Light Offshore: Suitable for light jigging and spinning for nomadic species like Mackerel, Pollock, and small tuna-types.

Key Features & Technologies

• HAGANE Gear & Body: The cold-forged gear and rigid aluminum body provide the unwavering strength Shimano is known for, preventing flexing under the weight of a trophy fish.

• InfinityXross & InfinityDrive: These provide increased gear tooth durability and reduce rotational resistance, making the reel feel incredibly light to turn, even during a fight.

• DuraCross Drag: A revolutionary drag washer material that provides the smoothness of felt with the 10x durability of carbon.

• Anti-Twist Fin: A brand-new feature that manages line tension near the line roller to prevent loops and wind knots, even when using light braids.

• Long Stroke Spool: The elongated AR-C spool design minimizes friction during the cast, helping you reach those extra meters of distance.
