The Kinetic Barrel Swivel W/Scandic Snap Black is essentially the same popular terminal tackle as the brass version, with the main difference being the finish applied to the swivel body.

Key Components

• Barrel Swivel: The cylindrical component that rotates. It is typically made of brass but has been treated with a black finish (often a black nickel plating).
• Scandic Snap: The quick-change clip, usually made of durable stainless steel.
• Assembly: The snap is connected to the barrel swivel, allowing the swivel to spin to prevent line twist, and the snap to allow for fast lure changes.

Function and Color Choice

The function remains the same as the brass version: to reduce line twist from rotational lures (like spoons and spinners) and offer the convenience of quickly swapping lures without re-tying knots.

The choice of the black finish over the bright brass finish is often made by anglers for the following reasons:

1. Low Visibility: The black color is considered less reflective and therefore less visible underwater, especially in murky or low-light conditions. This can be important in clear water or when targeting fish that are easily spooked by shiny terminal tackle.
2. Corrosion Resistance: The coating applied to achieve the black finish (often a black nickel or similar plating) also adds an extra layer of protection against corrosion, which is valuable in saltwater environments.

In short, the Kinetic Barrel Swivel W/Scandic Snap Black is a reliable,
