Quality and innovation for all. Inside the lightweight, compact body of the updated CAIUS are proven technologies like the Variable Brake System (VBS), which applies centrifugal force and weights instead of magnets to temper initial spool acceleration. This design also allows the spool to spin freely until the end of the cast to reduce backlash. This, working in tandem with CAIUS’ Super Free Spool design, eliminates distance-robbing friction and improves overall casting performance. To eliminate vibration and increase smoothness, a thin-walled aluminum high-tolerance S3D spool offers a baitcasting experience anglers should expect from Shimano, at an attainable price.
