The Wiggler is an excellent pattern for Chinook, Coho, and Chum Salmon as well as winter steelhead. Stretching out to nearly 5 inches long – this fly looks ELECTRIC in the water with tons of movement and popping bright colors. This fly is best fished on a sink tip with a Skagit-style line – it would be difficult to cast without a beefy line like a Skagit (for Spey) or an aggressive head (OPST) on a single handed rod.

This fly is tied with a shank and a trailing hook, which gives the fly a huge profile but the fish is more likely to be landed than it would be on a long hook thanks to being played off that short little stinger hook. If you are headed to Alaska, British Columbia, or the Oregon coast, throw a few of these in your fly box.
