The AXIA Mighty Minnow Kit 14g is the ultimate middle-weight soft plastic system, offering a perfect balance between casting distance and finesse presentation. At Gerrys Fishing, we find the 14g version to be the most versatile in the range, allowing anglers to target Bass, Pollack, and Wrasse on the coast, as well as Pike and specimen Perch in freshwater.

This kit is designed for the angler who needs variety and value, providing 4 color-matched jig heads and 16 durable bodies in a mix of natural to bright colors to suit any water clarity or light condition.

Engineering & Irresistible Action

• Rapid Flutter Paddle Tail: The engine of the Mighty Minnow is its deliberately small paddle tail. This design produces a high-frequency, rapid flutter that mimics the frantic movement of small prey fishan action that triggered predators find irresistible.

• Pronounced Body Roll: The lure is shaped to create a seductive rolling action during the retrieve. This creates a rhythmic flash from the flanks of the lure, helping predators track it even in turbulent or murky water.

• Unique Curved Jaw Jig Head: The 14g jig head features a specialized curved profile. This allows the lure to bounce off rocks rather than wedging into them, protecting the hook point and significantly reducing the potential to snag.

• Ultra-Sharp Fixed Hooks: Every head is equipped with a high-strength, ultra-sharp fixed hook designed for solid hook-ups through the hard mouths of Bass and large Perch.

• Tough-Soft Construction: Built from a tough, soft plastic, these bodies are durable enough to survive multiple strikes while remaining supple enough to provide a natural swimming action.

Tactical Applications & Maintenance

The 14g Mighty Minnow is a go-to search bait for various environments. The Gerrys team suggests:

• Estuary & Inshore Bass: The 14g weight is ideal for fishing shallower estuaries or from the shore on light-game tackle. The natural bodies are perfect for imitating sandeels or sprats in clear water.

• Light Rock Fishing (LRF) Up-Scaling: For anglers moving beyond micro-lures to target larger Pollack and Wrasse, the 14g Mighty Minnow provides a substantial meal that can still be fished methodically through rocky gullies.

• Freshwater Specimen Perch: In deep gravel pits or rivers, the rapid tail flutter is a proven trigger for big Perch.Use a sink and draw retrieve to let the lure roll and flutter on the drop.

• Pro-Tip (Maximum Security): The factory-assembled lures come pre-glued. When you are replacing bodies from the 16 included in the kit, we strongly recommend using a drop of Tronixpro Top Fishing Rig Glue. This keeps the body perfectly aligned on the curved jaw head and prevents fish from pulling the tail down during a missed strike.

Gerrys Verdict:

The AXIA Mighty Minnow 14g Kit is a must-have for the angler who values adaptability. With its anti-snag head design and high-frequency vibrations, it is a high-value investment that covers both fresh and saltwater scenarios. Having a mixed selection of 16 bodies ensures you are never caught out by changing water conditions
