AXIA Mighty Minnow Kit 28g Mixed | 4 Heads, 16 Bodies: The Ultimate Versatility Pack

The AXIA Mighty Minnow Kit is one of the best-value comprehensive soft plastic systems available at Gerrys Fishing. Designed as a pro-style kit for those who want to be prepared for any water clarity or light condition, this set is built around a 28g platform that is primarily for bass fishing but has proven lethal for Pollack, Wrasse, Pike, and Perch.

This kit provides 4 color-coded jig heads and 16 durable bodies in a mixed array of natural and bright colors. Whether you are fishing the deep rock gullies of the coast or searching for specimen Pike in freshwater, this kit offers the weight and action needed to reach the strike zone.

Engineering & Irresistible Action

• Pronounced Rolling Action: The body shape is specifically engineered to roll as it moves through the water.2 This creates a flashing side-profile that mimics the belly of a panicked baitfish, drawing predators in from a distance.

• Rapid Flutter Paddle Tail: Unlike large, heavy-thumping tails, the Mighty Minnow features a deliberately small paddle tail.3 This produces a high-frequency, rapid flutter that mimics smaller, faster prey fishan action that predators often find more realistic and harder to ignore.4

• Unique Curved Jaw Jig Head: The jig head is designed with a specialized curved profile.5 This allows the lure to bounce off rocks, effectively protecting the hook point and significantly reducing the potential to snag in rough, snag-heavy terrain.

• Ultra-Sharp Fixed Hooks: Each 28g head features a strong, ultra-sharp fixed hook designed for solid hook-ups, ensuring that when a Bass or Pollack hits, the hook finds its mark instantly.

Tactical Applications & Maintenance

The 28g Mighty Minnow is a heavy-duty finesse tool. The Gerrys team suggests:

• Coastal Bass Searching: Use the 28g weight to achieve massive casting distance from the shore. The natural color bodies in the kit are perfect for clear water, while the bright options excel in the surf or stained water.

• Deep-Water Pollack Jigging: The 28g head allows the lure to sink quickly into the strike zone around wrecks and reefs. The rapid tail flutter is a major trigger for Pollack during a steady retrieve back to the surface.

• Rock Hopping for Wrasse: Thanks to the curved jaw design, you can confidently bounce this lure along rocky ledges. The toughness of the plastic ensures it survives the aggressive crushing bites of large Wrasse.

• Pro-Tip (Gluing): To ensure maximum performance and longevity, the factory bodies come glued to the head. When you replace a body from the 16 included in the kit, we strongly recommend using Tronixpro Top Fishing Rig Glue to secure it. This prevents the body from being pulled down the hook shank during a strike or when moving through weed.

Gerrys Verdict:
