Daiwa 24 NZon Plus Distance: The Long-Range Feeder Specialist

When your target is on the horizon, you need a reel built for the big chuck. At Gerrys Fishing, we know that distance feeder work requires a specific blend of spool geometry and raw cranking power. The 24 NZon Plus Distance hits that mark perfectly, offering big-pit performance in a surprisingly agile and compact frame.

The heart of its casting prowess is the 25mm LC (Long Cast) Spool. By combining refined line lay with a unique two-edged spool lip, Daiwa has managed to reduce friction to a micro-level. This ensures your line peels off with maximum velocity but remains controlled, optimizing every yard of your cast.

Engineered for Distance and Durability

• Zaion Body & Zaion V Air Rotor: High-precision composite carbons make this reel incredibly tough without the weight. At just 450g, it wont unbalance your long-range feeder rods, yet the rigid Zaion body ensures the internals stay aligned under heavy pressure.

• Winching Power: With a geared-down 4.7:1 ratio, this reel is a winch. It generates massive torque for retrieving 100g+ feeders from distance, yet still eats up 96cm of line per handle turn to keep you efficient.

• QD (Quick Drag): Transition from a free runner for those violent rip-round takes to a solid fighting drag in less than a single turn.

• One-Touch Folding Handle: Designed for the modern angler. This handle makes packing down into a ready-rod sleeve rapid and convenientperfect for keeping your distance kit set up and ready to go.

Where to Use the NZon Plus Distance

This reel is a specialist tool for demanding environments. The Gerrys team recommends it for:

• Large Natural Reservoirs: When the bream are sitting at 80m100m, the LC Spool and Cross Wrap technology ensure you have the best possible chance of reaching them consistently.

• Extreme River Feeder Fishing: Ideal for the deep, fast-flowing stretches of the Trent or the Severn. The Digigear 2 and Air Bail system are built to handle the stress of retrieving heavy cage and block-end feeders against a strong current.

• The Big Chuck on Commercials: Perfect for large venues like Barston or Boddington where you need to reach the middle of the lake. The HIP High Impact Line Clip allows you to hit your spot with pinpoint accuracy without risking line damage.

• Braid-Specific Setups: The Twistbuster 3 roller and precise line lay make this an excellent choice for those using thin feeder braids to maximize bite detection at range.

Gerrys Verdict:

The 24 NZon Plus Distance is a spot on addition to any serious feeder anglers armory. It provides the heavy-duty specs of a much larger reel but retains a compact feel that balances beautifully on 12ft, 13ft, and 14ft distance rods. Its a distance machine that doesnt compromise on finesse
