Duo Rough Trail Blazin 92 9.2cm | 40g: The Ballistic Heavyweight Minnow

The Duo Rough Trail Blazin 92 is a high-density, sinking jerkbait minnow that defies the traditional laws of lure size versus weight. At Gerrys Fishing, we categorize this as a power-finesse tool. Packed with a massive 40g into a compact 9.2cm bodywhich is more than most jigging luresit is specifically engineered for anglers who need to reach distant positions and prospect quickly.

Part of the formidable Rough Trail family, the Blazin 92 is a solid construction masterpiece designed to withstand the power of very large predators in the most extreme conditions.

Engineering & High-Velocity Action

• Ultra-High Density: Packing 40g into 92mm makes this one of the most aerodynamic lures in its class. It launches very far, allowing you to reach offshore surface boils or distant reef edges from the shore with ease.

• Chamfered Lip & Flip Tail: Even with its heavy weight, the chamfered lip and flip tail design creates lift. This ingenious engineering allows the lure to initiate the action smoothly the moment it hits the water and maintain a stable swimming plane.

• High-Speed Stability: This lure is designed to maintain very high retrieving speeds. It copes perfectly with strong currents and turbulent surf without tumbling or blowing out, making it an absolute reference for burning a lure back to trigger reflex strikes.

• Heavy-Duty Construction: Dont let the small size fool you; this lure is very solid. It is built to endure the bone-crushing pressure of Tuna, Bonito, and large Bass that key into small, fast-moving prey.

Tactical Applications & Strategy

The Blazin 92 is a technical tool for high-pressure situations. The Gerrys team suggests:

• The Surface Burn: When predators are chasing small baitfish like anchovies or sprats, cast the Blazin 92 and retrieve it at very high speeds. The flip tail creates a frantic vibration that mimics a panicked fish trying to escape.

• Punching Through Gales: This is the must-have lure when a heavy headwind makes casting standard minnows impossible. The 40g weight cuts through the air like a bullet.

• Deep Estuary & Tidal Races: Use its high-density weight to reach the bottom of deep, fast-flowing channels. It stays in the strike zone longer than lighter lures that would be swept away by the current.

• Vertical Prospecting: In deep water, the Blazin 92 can be worked with a jig and retrieve style. Its heavy weight allows it to sink rapidly to where the fish are holding, while the lip ensures it swims immediately upon the lift.

Gerrys Verdict:

The Duo Rough Trail Blazin 92 (9.2cm/40g) is a top-tier heavy sinking minnow that offers outstanding performance for its size. It solves the problem of reaching distant positions while maintaining a small profile. If you are looking for a lure that prospects quickly and can handle very large predators, the Blazin 92 is a high-value choice
