Garbolino Reel G-Pro Series Match 3000

The Garbolino G-Pro Series Match 3000 is a precision-engineered reel designed for the dedicated match angler who demands high performance without the premium price tag. Built to handle the rigors of modern silverfish and commercial fishing, this reel excels in both waggler and light feeder applications.

The standout feature of the G-Pro is its impressive 6.0:1 high-speed gear ratio. This allows for a rapid retrieve of 0.95m per turn of the handle, which is a massive advantage when winding in wagglers from distance or clearing the line quickly to reset your cast. This speed, combined with a smooth 5+1 ball bearing system, ensures a fluid operation that remains reliable fish after fish.

Gerrys Pro Tip

The 3000 size G-Pro is the ultimate all-rounder for the modern match circuit. Where this reel truly shines is the double line clip. On many venues, you might want to switch between a line at 20 meters for the short line and 35 meters for the main feed. Having both distances clipped up on a reel this fast means you can transition between lines in seconds. Its also incredibly helpful for ensuring youre always hitting the same spot when fishing a slider or a heavy waggler.

Where to Use the G-Pro 3000

• Waggler Fishing: The high-speed retrieve is perfect for picking up the bow in your line quickly after the cast and bringing in light rigs at speed.

• Pellet Waggler: Its robust build and fast take-up make it ideal for the constant casting and winding associated with pellet waggler tactics.

• Light to Medium Feeder: While fast, it has the cranking power needed for cage feeders and hybrid feeders on commercials.

• Silverfish Sport: The sensitive front drag is perfect for protecting light hooks and fine fluorocarbon hooklengths when targeting skimmers and roach.

Frequently Asked Questions

Does it come with a spare spool?

Yes, unlike many reels at this price point, the G-Pro Series Match comes with a spare aluminum spool, allowing you to carry different breaking strains or line types (like braid vs. mono).

Is a 6.0:1 ratio too fast for feeder fishing?

Not at all. While power reels often have lower ratios, the 0.95m retrieve on the G-Pro 3000 is excellent for match feeder fishing where speed is of the essence. It allows you to empty the feeder and get back to the bank faster to keep the bait going in.

How do I use the double line clip safely?

The clips on the G-Pro are designed to be line-friendly. To use both, simply cast to your first distance and clip up, then cast to your second (longer) distance and use the second clip. Just remember which is which when youre unclipping during a fight!
