Preston Innovations Superium Section Protector

Shield your investment and fish with total confidence using the Preston Innovations Superium Section Protector. Anyone who has ever fished a commercial match knows that shipping back at speed or handling sections with wet hands can easily result in accidental drops, chips, or crushed carbon. These premium mini-extension protectors are engineered precisely to take the brunt of that impact, providing a lightweight yet incredibly durable insurance policy for your high-end pole sections.

Constructed from premium-grade 3K carbon fibre, these section protectors are built to withstand heavy-handed use on the bank without adding unwanted, sagging weight to your setup. Each protector is factory-fitted with a high-density EVA nose cone. This internal cone acts as a guide and a buffer, completely eliminating the risk of chipping or cracking the delicate female joints of your main pole sections when aligning them in a hurry.

Tailored specifically to fit across the Superium family, these protectors are the ultimate companion for keeping your sections in pristine condition season after season.

Pro Tip from the Gerrys Fishing Team

Pro Tip: Dont just think of these as protection for when your pole is on the rollers. When you are targeting big weights down the margins or fishing short on the deck, you often put immense, concentrated elbow pressure right on the end of whatever section you are holding.

By popping the correct Superium Section Protector onto the end of your fishing length, you create a reinforced, heavy-duty handle. This absorbs all that crushing forearm pressure, saving your expensive main pole sections from ovaling or fracturing under heavy stress.

Ideal Applications

• High-Speed Match Shipping: Protecting expensive carbon joints from clashing and chipping when rhythmically shipping back to net fish.

• Short-Line & Margin Work: Serving as a reinforced, robust handle section when applying heavy leverage to big carp down the edge.

• High-Wind Conditions: Giving your pole extra structural integrity at the holding point when wrestling against crosswinds on open commercial waters.

Frequently Asked Questions (FAQs)

Will these protectors fit older Preston poles or poles from other brands?

These section protectors are explicitly engineered to match the exact mandrel, taper, and wall thickness of the Preston Superium series (including the X35, X55, X75, X95, and Carp models). They are not guaranteed to fit older Preston series or poles from other manufacturers due to differing joint diameters.

Which specific sections do I need a protector for?

The Superium Section Protectors are available in various sizes tailored to fit sections 5, 6, 7, 8, 9, and 10. We highly recommend picking up protectors for the specific lengths you fish most oftensuch as your typical margin or short-line distancesto ensure your most-used joints are always fully guarded.

Do these protectors add a noticeable amount of weight to the pole?

Not at all. Because Preston utilizes a premium 3K carbon weave rather than cheap, heavy composite materials, these protectors are incredibly light. They preserve the crisp, responsive balance and rigidity of your Superium pole, meaning you wont feel any extra fatigue even when fishing at long lengths.
