Preston Offbox Pole Support System

Effortless Long-Pole Fishing: The Des Shipp Signature Design

Fishing at 13m, 14.5m, or 16m for hours on end can be a physical grind. The Preston Offbox Pole Support System was specifically developed by England International Des Shipp to eliminate the strain. This isnt just a rest; it is a fully adjustable hands-free support system that allows you to fish long lengths of pole with total precision and zero fatigue.

The system works by locking your pole between a strengthened rear knuckle and a long, rotating EVA front bar. This triangulation takes the entire weight of the pole, leaving your hands free to ship in and out, feed bait, or simply wait for that vital tip-indication without the back-ache.

Why this is a Must-Have for Match Anglers:

• Total Adjustability: Featuring a sliding rear attachment, you can angle your pole to perfectly match the conditionswhether you need the tip submerged to beat the wind or elevated to clear nearside marginal cover.

• Snap-Lok Compatibility: Built on the legendary Offbox platform, it is incredibly quick to set up and take down, fitting onto all popular seatbox leg profiles (36mm, 30mm, and 25mm).

• Pole Protection: The high-density EVA foam on the front rest ensures that even under heavy pressure or fast bites, your expensive carbon pole sections are protected from scratches and damage.

Where to Use the Preston Pole Support in the UK

• Commercial Snake Lakes (e.g., Partridge Lakes or Lindholme): When you are lapping over to the far bank at 16m, this system is essential. It holds the pole rock-steady against the far reeds, allowing you to feed accurately with a cad-pot while the pole is supported.

• Large Open Reservoirs: On venues like Bough Beech or Carr Mill Dam, the wind can make holding a long pole impossible. This support system anchors the pole, preventing the wind from buffeting your rig out of the baiting zone.

• The Short Long Pole: Even at 11m or 13m, using the support system during a long 5-hour match allows you to stay fresh and reactive for the final power hour when the big carp move in.

• Canal Fishing: Perfect for fishing the far shelf on wide canals like the Gloucester & Sharpness. It allows you to keep the pole dead-still, which is often the secret to tempting wary canal skimmers and roach.

The Gerrys Fishing Verdict:

The Preston Pole Support System is a game-changer for any serious pole angler. Its the difference between struggling with your gear and fishing with total efficiency. Once youve used it, youll wonder how you ever managed without itespecially on those windy days in the North West!
