Fishing Uses

The 3mm black beads are considered a standard and essential component for general rig making, mainly for their function and subtle appearance:

1. Stop Beads (Snood Stops): Their primary function is to act as a stop or buffer on the rig body, preventing other components like crimps and snood swivels from sliding along the line. This is crucial for fixing the position of hook lengths (snoods) on a rig.
2. Cushioning/Buffering: They are used on either side of a rig component (like a swivel or a crimp) to absorb shock during a powerful cast and protect the knot or crimp from wear and tear.
3. Running Rigs: They can be placed between a running ledger boom (like a Tronixpro Zip Slider) and the main swivel to act as a buffer and protect the knot.
4. Rig Making: The black color is often preferred for a subtle, low-visibility presentation compared to more vibrant attractor beads (like luminous or colored ones). They are versatile for many types of rigs, including two-hook flapper and running ledger rigs.
