The Westin W6-BC 200 MSG LH Stealth Gold is a high-end baitcasting reel designed for serious predator anglers. It is part of Westins W6 series, which is their flagship line of baitcasting reels, known for combining durability, strength, and smooth performance. The 200 in the name indicates its size, the MSG stands for Medium Speed Gear, and LH signifies it is a left-hand retrieve model. The Stealth Gold refers to its sleek black and gold color scheme.

Key Features and Technology

The W6-BC 200 MSG is built with a host of advanced features to handle the rigors of predator fishing for species like pike, zander, perch, and bass.

• Durable Construction: The reel is built on a robust, one-piece aluminum frame. This provides a rigid and reliable platform, preventing flex under heavy loads. The side plates are made from carbon, which helps to keep the overall weight down without compromising on strength.
• Bearing System: It features a high-end 10+1 sealed stainless steel ball bearing system. This large number of bearings contributes to the reels exceptionally smooth operation, both on the retrieve and during the cast.
• Braking System: The reel is equipped with an Internal Centrifugal Brake (CBS6) with six shoes. This system provides a high level of control over the spool, helping to prevent backlashes and allowing the angler to fine-tune the cast for different lure weights and wind conditions.
• Drag System: The drag system is a multi-stack carbon drag, which provides a smooth, powerful, and consistent drag force. It also includes a Drag Clicker feature, which produces a clicking sound when line is being pulled from the reel, a useful audible indicator during a fight.
• Gearing: The MSG (Medium Speed Gear) designation means it has a balanced gear ratio of 7.3:1. This is a versatile ratio that is suitable for a wide range of lure presentations, from slower-moving crankbaits to faster jigs and soft plastics. The gears are GT-A gears, which are precision-machined for smooth meshing and durability.
• Ergonomics and Design: The reel features a full carbon handle with non-slip rubber handle knobs for a comfortable and secure grip. The reel is also lubricated with three different types of grease during assembly to ensure optimal performance. The Stealth Gold color scheme adds to its high-end aesthetic.
